The San Diego LGBT Center Luminary Lunch: Celebrates Community, Leadership, and Lasting Change

By Cesar A Reyes

At a time when LGBTQ+ communities and other marginalized groups continue to face growing challenges, The Center’s third annual LGBTQ+ Luminaries Lunch arrives as a powerful reminder of the strength found in community care. Taking place on June 18, 2026, during National Pride Month, the event will bring together more than 600 community members, leaders, and allies to celebrate those creating lasting change across San Diego. This year’s honorees include Dr. Fabiola Bagula, receiving the Leadership Award, Dining Out for Life San Diego participating locations, receiving the Catalyst Award, and Toni Atkins, receiving the Icon Award. We sat down with this year’s honorees to talk about community, being recognized for their work, and the vital role The Center continues to play in supporting and uplifting San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community.
