SKINZ Leather Fashion Show Returns to Celebrate Craftsmanship, Community, and Self-Expression
By Cesar A Reyes
The San Diego Leather community will once again take center stage as SKINZ Leather Fashion Show returns Thursday, August 6, 2026, for its second annual celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and individuality. Following the success of its inaugural event in 2024, SKINZ continues to grow as a unique showcase highlighting the artistry of local leather designers and the diverse identities represented within the leather, kink, and fetish communities.
Produced by Earl Gray, Mr. San Diego Leather 2024, this year’s event promises a bigger and more inclusive runway experience featuring three talented local leather designers, current Leather titleholders from across the region, and a wide range of fashion that honors both traditional leather aesthetics and bold contemporary expression. Returning designers, including Detoxxx Leather, will bring their signature styles and craftsmanship to the stage, celebrating the creativity and passion behind each handcrafted piece.
The 2026 event will also expand accessibility with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation while continuing its commitment to community support through proceeds benefiting TransFamily Support Services and the North County LGBTQ Resource Center’s youth programming.
In this special feature, The WORD San Diego sits down with organizer Earl Gray and the three featured designers (Gebo, Angelo and Rod Ray aka Alpha) to explore the inspiration, craftsmanship, and community behind SKINZ. Discover the stories, designs, and people bringing this one-of-a-kind celebration to life.
SKINZ Leather Fashion Show takes place Thursday, August 6, 2026, at The Brass Rail, with doors opening at 6:00 PM and the runway beginning at 7:00 PM.
