Dining Out for Life: 20 Years of Eating, Drinking, and Making it Count

By Cesar A Reyes

Something special is happening in San Diego this spring—and it tastes really good. On April 23, 2026, Dining Out For Life returns for its 20th year, turning an ordinary day of meals into something deeply meaningful. Imagine grabbing coffee with a friend, sharing tacos at lunch, or going out for cocktails at night, and knowing that a portion of what you spend is helping someone in your own community access HIV care, prevention, and support services.

That’s the beauty of this event. Local restaurants, bars, and cafés open their doors not just to serve great food, but to give back—donating at least 25% of their sales to The Center’s health and wellness programs. It’s simple, human, and powerful: you eat, they give, and together it makes a real difference.

For many, this isn’t just a night out—it’s a tradition, a way to show up for neighbors, friends, and loved ones impacted by HIV. Across North America, millions have been raised through Dining Out For Life, but what matters most is what happens locally. Every dollar stays in San Diego, supporting real people, real stories, and real hope—one meal at a time. Click on the image to view full interviews
