New Year, Fresh Outlook
By Cesar A Reyes
As 2026 begins, many of us are setting intentions around fitness, finances, relationships, and personal or professional growth. Whether you’re refining long-term goals or simply looking for a place to start, having the right guidance can make all the difference. With that in mind, we’re highlighting community members who offer meaningful, community-based resources to support your New Year’s resolutions.
Meet Jen LaBarbera (they/them) of Grounded Liberation Consulting & Strategies, who provides policy and advocacy support, justice-focused trainings and workshops. Nathan Serrato (he/him) leads Queer Conscious, a coaching resource dedicated to personal, relationship and professional growth. Nick Stone (he/him) and Skyler McCurine (she/her) are Financial Advisors with Edward Jones, helping individuals build clarity and confidence around their financial goals. Finally, Connor (he/him) and Angeli Ryan-Lim (she/her) are owners of The Experience Fitness & Mobility Studio, a Hillcrest-based gym committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for people to work toward their fitness and wellness goals.
What connects all of these individuals is their deep commitment to community and their approach to supporting people’s goals through care, understanding, and lived experience. Click on the images for the full interviews
