FilmOut San Diego Shines Bright at 25th Annual LGBTQ Film Festival

FilmOut San Diego is set to celebrate a major milestone this year as it hosts its 25th Annual LGBTQ Film Festival, running from August 21–24, 2025. Held in the heart of San Diego’s historic Balboa Park, this year’s festival will showcase 40 dynamic films across two iconic venues: the San Diego Natural History Museum (THE NAT) and the Museum of Photographic Arts at the San Diego Museum of Art (MOPA@SDMA). From acclaimed selections fresh off the circuit at Sundance, SXSW, and BFI to bold independent features and compelling short films, the lineup promises something for every cinephile.

The festivities kick off on Thursday, August 21, with an Opening Night Film and Party at THE NAT and culminate with a Closing Night screening and Dessert Reception on Sunday, August 24, at MOPA@SDMA—capping off four days of celebration, storytelling, and community.
