Lauren Henson: Project Manager

Please introduce yourself? 
My name is Lauren Henson My pronouns are she her and I am the no other festival project manager.

Tell us how a bit about yourself (where are you from, how did you end up in SD) what do you do for work?
I am originally from Napa Valley and when I joined the Marine Corps I got stationed down here and I never left. 
And I currently run an independent urban farming and self sustainability business.

How did you become involve with the Know Other Festival?
I became involved with Know other festival After meeting Yinka at an out professionals networking event.
 We clicked and have almost been inseparable ever since. 

The importance of a Festival like Know Other Festival?
This festival is important because With the current state of affairs in the United States and are very existence being threatened it is critical now more than ever that we continue to provide the safe spaces for all of those in our community and that we continue to be a beacon for those that are still trying to find themselves in this Community.

What are you looking forward to the festival?
What I’m looking forward to most of the festival is seeing the community come out and Watching how they interact in this space. I feel like a lot of times when it comes to putting on these events we get caught up in the fine details but what really brings everything together is seeing Our community come together and thrive and just  Seeing the smiles on everyone’s face that is always my favorite part.
